Firewall - advanced settings - inbound rule: can not find "Remote Desktop (TCP-In)" rule
Win 7 Ultra x86 very strange there is not such rule in Firewall - advanced settings - inbound rules. Even I try: Firewall - restore defaults. How can I bring it back? if I try the following netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Remote Desktop (TCP-In)" program=System profile=public, private, domain dir=in localport=3389 protocol=tcp action=allow description="Inbound rule for the Remote Desktop service to allow RDP traffic. [TCP 3389]" the "Remote Desktop (TCP-In)" is create, but it doesn't belong to the Remote Desktop group, and not a predefined rule.

Hi, You can follow these steps to bring “Remote Desktop(TCP-In)” back: 1 Click “Start” 2 Input “Firewall with Advanced Security” and press Enter 3 Choose “Inbound Rules” then click “New Rule…” in the right pane 4 Select the third option “Predefined” and select “Remote Desktop” 5 Click “Next” 6 Choose the rules name and click “Next” 7 Click “Finish” Hope it works. unfortunately, in step 4, no "remote desktop" item in "predefined" option. there is "remote assistant" but no "remote desktop" . I have double checked.

That’s strange, “Remote Desktop” item should under “Remote Assistance”. Maybe some files related with firewall missed or corrupted, try to perform an in-place upgrade to fix it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099 Hope that helps, Regards, Leo Huang Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
